Anyone ever played these?
For those not in the know, Demon's Crest is basically Gargoyle's Quest 3. Gargoyle's Quest came out for Game Boy, while Gargoyle's Quest 2 hit NES.
I just beat the first Gargoyle's Quest myself, and it takes the platforming more seriously than Demon's Crest. Firebrand's jump height and flight time are limited to create strict challenges. Then, over the course of the game, he gets better at jumping and flying. With this in mind, the Firebrand in Demon's Crest--a guy whose flight time is now unrestricted--is the result of character development over previous games. It strikes an opposition to characters like Mega Man who go back to factory default after each game.
