What topics do you want to discuss?

Come here to talk about the Commune in general. What games should we play next, how should we decide what games to play, whether or not to call this Brook Farm, stuff like that.

What topics do you want to discuss?

I think, as we cruise through different genres, we should leave notes about lines of questioning we'd like to go down. If we play a rhythm game and feel like everything was covered, there wouldn't be much reason to play another one, right? (For instance, I think we could say a lot more about powerups in platformers, even after Magical Quest and Shatterhand.) But if we play a rhythm game and come away with unanswered questions, we could pile those up for a later rhythm game.

Or, if there are things you'd like to discuss in the future that aren't related to a game we're playing right now, feel free to bring that up, too.

just some general ideas to maybe help us pick games

-non-verbal storytelling, i.e. how gameplay elements lead a narrative
-consonance between level thematics and level design (ice levels are slippery)
-exploration/branching (why is Super Metroid neat but Symphony of the Night crap)
-when and why does AI matter - what's the difference between an AI opponent and a pattern
