Since there's quite a bit of configurability within DosBox, I'm going to recommend some people checkout a front-end.

One I checked out is Dosbox Game Launcher(). You create a profile on a per-game basis, point it to the game files and run it. It's multi-platform and it allows you to go pretty deep into the settings without being too confusing.
